What to ask the breeder for
- Veterinary exam and vaccination records
- Both parents' breeds and generation (for example F1, F1B, or multigen)
- Parent health testing for each breed involved, where available
Poochon mixes from shelters and rescues
Rescues on HerdVerified can list a mixed-breed animal by its primary breed, such as "Poochon Mix". Breed mixes in shelters are often identified by appearance, so ask the rescue how the breed was determined.
How to avoid puppy scams
- Prefer providers whose identity and business details have been reviewed.
- Ask for a live video call with the animal before sending money.
- Be cautious of prices far below typical, pressure to pay quickly, or gift-card and wire payments.
- Ask to see health records rather than accepting verbal assurances.
HerdVerified reviews provider identity and documents. Verification is not a guarantee of an animal's health or temperament.
