Verification Disclaimer

What a HerdVerified badge means, what it does not mean, and why an incomplete item is not a failed item.

Last updated September 1, 2026

What verification means

HerdVerified verification means that certain information or documentation has been reviewed or provided. It does not guarantee truthfulness, legal compliance, animal health, temperament, behavior, pedigree, suitability, or transaction outcome.

Verification is limited to the category shown

Each category — Identity, Business & Licensing, Health Records, Genetic Screening, and Pedigree Documentation — is reviewed independently. A verified result in one category says nothing about any other category.

Incomplete is not failed

  • "Not Provided" means the documentation or verification step has not been completed or provided. It is not a failure.
  • "Not Applicable" means the category does not apply to that provider or animal. It is not a failure.
  • "In Review" means a submission is with our team and has no result yet.

Verification can change

Verification status may change if information expires, changes, is updated, or is later questioned through review or a report. Status shown today may not be status shown later.

No implied warranty

HerdVerified does not guarantee any animal, provider, buyer, health outcome, temperament, pedigree, legal compliance, transaction outcome, or placement result.

Verification does not replace buyer judgment, independent due diligence, or professional advice.
