Verified is not paid
A provider can never purchase a better verification status. Verification is assigned by HerdVerified review only, and it is included with every membership at no extra cost.
Rescues & shelters
Legitimate verified nonprofit rescues and shelters are eligible for complimentary access at launch. Nonprofit status is confirmed by staff review before complimentary access is granted.
Founding Provider program
Founding 25 is invitation-only and hand-selected. Founding pricing is being finalized and is not published yet. Founding status is never granted automatically to early signups.
Billing basics
- Does HerdVerified take a commission on an animal sale?
- No. HerdVerified does not process animal payments, hold deposits, run escrow, or take any percentage of a sale. Membership pays for the platform only.
- Do memberships auto-renew?
- Yes. Monthly memberships renew monthly and annual memberships renew annually until canceled. The renewal date and amount are shown before purchase and in your billing dashboard.
- What happens if I cancel?
- Renewal stops and access continues through the end of your paid period. After that, listings become inactive and the account becomes read-only. Your profile, verification history, documents, inquiry history, and account records are retained.
- What happens if a payment fails?
- We notify you and retry automatically. A 7-day grace period starts, during which your account stays active and your listings stay visible. If it is still unpaid after 7 days, the account moves to Paused — Payment Failed and active listings become inactive. Nothing is deleted, and a later successful payment restores membership and eligible listings.
- Are refunds available?
- Subscription payments are generally non-refundable except in the case of platform error or exceptional circumstances determined by HerdVerified. See the Payment & Subscription Terms.
Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by the payment processor where required. Providers remain responsible for taxes relating to their own animal transactions, which are separate from HerdVerified platform fees.
